Macarons Masterclass

The perfect macaron is one of todays the most sought-after confections. But just as their popularity has grown, so has their notorious reputation for being among the most difficult crafts of baking. With so many different stages that must be gotten right to achieve the correct texture and appearance, there are so many things that can go wrong. This workshop will take you step-by-step through both the French and Italian methods breaking them down into easier, achievable steps to help you produce the perfect macaron every time, including some special designs just for Easter.

Course Outline:

  • French Macaron Shells
  • Italian Macaron Shells
  • Various Fillings

Learning Outcome:

  • to prepare Italian and French style macarons and a variety of fillings
  • Food hygiene and safety
  • to work individually and in a team

What to bring:

  • Pen
  • Apron
  • 2 tea towels
  • 4 flat baking trays
  • 2 large containers
  • 3 smaller containers

Safety First:

Please ensure you wear closed in shoes, long pants and ensure long hair is tied back.

About the Tutor:

'I’m currently studying a double degree in Medical Science at the University of Sydney with a lifelong obsession of cooking and experimenting in the kitchen. With years of commercial cookery experience and a great passion for teaching, I’m always delighted to meet new people and help develop their culinary skills.'

  • All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled prior to the commencement and you will be informed.
