Loose Watercolour Flowers

Use wet in wet watercolour techniques to create 2 or 3 loose watercolour flower paintings.

What to bring:

  • 3 tubes watercolour: Ultramarine blue, Permanent rose, Cadmium yellow and White gouache (or bring blue, red and yellow tubes of artist quality watercolour paint). Optional extra tubes: Raw Sienna and Burnt Sienna, Magenta, Viridian
  • 3 watercolour brushes: medium round brush with a good point, small liner brush or rigger or small dagger brush, medium hake brush.
  • 3 – 5 sheets A4 watercolour paper, or 3 – 4 sheets A3/quarter sheets – must be quality paper such as Arches or Saunders Waterford. Bring 3 sheets A4 watercolour paper for the warm up exercise et al. This could be a cheap watercolour paper.
  • Also bring: 2 or 3 boards larger than your paper, HB pencil, eraser, masking tape, palette, spray bottle, old towel for the table, masking fluid + old brush/applicator.
  • Water soluble marker
  • metre length of fine cotton
