Impressionist Painting

This is an introductory course in a unique method of painting used by the impressionists artists called full colour seeing to achieve radiant colour in their paintings Students will be guided to learn to see full spectrum colours in terms of light and atmosphere. There will be still-life painting indoor, later a few outdoor paintings. The student will choose either oil or acrylic, and may choose their own subject or project to work on. We will use a palette knife and hog brushes. Personal creative achievement is the prime focus in this art/painting course.

Materials Required:

  • 2-4 A4 canvas boards
  • 1 set of paints, Oil or Acrylic - $2 shops are ok
  • 1 medium size pallet knife
  • 1 medium, 1 small round hog brushes
  • 1 white mixing plate or similar flat surface
  • 1 x A4 sketch pad
  • 1HB or 2B sketch pencil
  • Plastic or cloth protect cover for working on
  • 1 kitchen towel
  • Rags or face towel for spills

Or bring what you have and add on later what is needed.
