Fundamental Steps to Changing Your Health

Does your or your family’s health need some attention? Brain fog, exhaustion, digestive issues, anxiety, depression, weight gain, auto immune, behavioural and skin problems are all symptoms that your body is out of balance. These symptoms can often be the beginning of bigger issues that may develop further down the line.

We live in a world where chronic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, Alzheimer’s and mental health issues are having a profound impact on our population. There are many things that you can do to help prevent and manage these conditions just by looking at our nutrition and lifestyle choices. Many of these relatively easy changes are not promoted by pharmaceutical companies or food manufacturers and our doctors are too busy to keep up-to-date on the latest research.

There is so much information out there, it can be overwhelming and difficult to know what is right and wrong. Are you confused by all the information on what you should and shouldn’t be doing to reach the best version of yourself?

Course outline:

Over four jam-packed weeks you will explore the fundamental areas of your diet and lifestyle that will allow you to make positive steps to change your health for the better. As a result you and your family will be able to make informed decisions and kick start your journey to finding optimum health and vitality.

Week 1 – Nutrition
This is a key driver for our vitality but there is so much information out there on what’s right and wrong. This session will cover the foundations of real nutrition and nourishing foods. It will look at the science and myth bust the information around fats, salt, sugar, carbs and food labelling. You will leave this session with an overview of what truly represents good nutrition and how to apply this to your everyday life in order to really nourish your body.

Week 2 – Lifestyle and wellbeing
Lifestyle choices are often areas of our life that get forgotten or not given the attention they deserve. This week will cover the essential life style factors that have an impact on our health and wellbeing. We will look at sunshine, sleep, exercise, stress, toxins and our environment. This week will reset your passion for the simple (and some not so simple) things in life that are fundamental to bringing your body back into balance.

Week 3 – Gut and brain health
Science is telling us that gut health should be a key focus if we are to achieve optimum health. This session will cover the essential information on why gut health is so important, how our microbiome drives so many facets to our overall health and wellbeing, and easy steps to improving your gut health. You will learn about fermented foods and drinks, and sample some delicious ferments to inspire you introduce these wonderful healing foods into your diet.

Week 4 – Bringing it all together
With a quick recap on previous weeks topics this week will look at how to implement the changes to your diet, lifestyle and environment to create a healthy lifestyle. You will look at tips and tricks to help cement your new habits and kick start your journey to optimum health and vitality.

You will be provided with extensive handouts with notes from the classes, tips, tricks, further reading and recipes enabling you to implement your learnings with ease at home.
