Fruit Carving for Beginners

The art of fruit and vegetable carving has become more important in the catering business and restaurants. Hotels realise the importance of this art, recurring experts in carving of fruit and vegetables to create impression to dishes.

Course Outline:

In this course I am very proud to present various types of simple fruit and vegetable carving, techniques and knife skills.

Week 1:

  • learn how to use and control carving knife

* learn how to choose fruit and vegetable for carving
* learn how to do Galangal flower (carrot), Tomato sunshine, cucumber

Week 2:

  • learn how to do a flower

* how to do a rose flower and add color (white radish), dahlia flower (pumpkin)
* and modified dahlia flower ( pumpkin)

Week 3:

  • learn how to do basket and all decoration in basket 
  • how to do cucumber basket (Cucumber)

* how to make small flower (carrot), chili flower, Spring onion flower

Week 4:

  • learn how to carve a zinnia flower (Potato) , flower leave (Pumpkin) cucumber

Learning Outcomes:

  • Decorating the fruit and vegetables to look beautiful and appetizing
  • To use in a career, such as fruit and vegetable by sculpture, restaurant, hotel
  • Thai culture
  • The Carving any pride in work and praised job and income.

'My name’s Piyamad Pratumma (Barbie), I’m from Thailand, where I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Home Economics. One of my subjects was Art of Thai Vegetable and Fruit Carving. After graduating became a teacher of Thai vegetable and fruit carving for almost 7 years and was rewarded (Bronze from international Virtual Salon Cultinarian).'
