Fit for Life

Is your health and fitness stopping you from enjoying the life you want to live? Do you suffer from muscular and joint pain that limits your life? Well this class is for you. Suitable for beginners to experienced exercisers and all levels of fitness, this circuit class uses easy to follow exercises and utilises cardio machines (such as a stationary bike and treadmill) and resistance bands and free weights to not only improve your fitness and strengthen the muscles you use every day, but to also improve the way you move (such as squatting, lifting and even walking). In the process we will help you to reduce pain whilst increasing your flexibility and mobility, allowing you to live the life you want. Remember: you are never too old and it is never too late to get Fit for Life!

Course Outline:

  • Circuit style class focusing on improving muscular strength, flexibility and mobility;
  • Cardio machines (including exercise bikes and treadmill) to improve fitness and heart health;
  • Utilise resistance bands and free weights to strengthen muscles that support and move joints;
  • Focus on improving technique for performing movements we all do every day (such as squatting and even walking)

Learning Outcomes:

  • Increase mobility and flexibility
  • Improve the way you perform everyday movements
  • Reduce pain and discomfort doing everyday movements

About the Tutor:

'Lewis South has a long association with health and fitness, having been a Rugby League referee for 18 years. After a successful 21 year career in the Finance Industry, Lewis embarked on a new career to help people who feel uncomfortable in traditional gym environments and older people rediscover fitness, and with it a healthier lifestyle. Besides teaching fitness classes at SGSCC, Lewis runs his own fitness company Be Your Best Health and Fitness. Lewis has a Certificate III and IV in Fitness from iPT Australia, one of the leading educators of fitness professionals in the Australia and New Zealand region with a special focus and passion in training mums and older adults, helping them become the best version of themselves they can possibly be.'
