Fermenting Foods and Drinks

Join me for this fun and practical hands-on step-by-step workshop where you will be able to make and taste a variety of fermented foods and drinks. You will learn to make sauerkraut, kimchi, kefir of various flavours, kombucha, coconut yoghurt, cashew cheese and how to ferment other fruits and vegetables.

You will also learn:

  • The history of the lost art of fermenting foods and drinks
  • Different types of fermented foods – wild v cultured ferments
  • How the fermentation process works
  • Tips and tricks to making successful ferments
  • A brief introduction to the link between your brain and your gut health
  • The importance of fermented foods in the diet and for gut health
  • How to incorporate these fabulous healing foods into your everyday life

You will leave the workshop with your starter cultures for kefir and coconut yoghurt enabling you to get started at home, having mastered how to create your own ferments. You will also take home a booklet of delicious recipes that are easy to incorporate into diet, together with an understanding of why these foods are vital for your gut and brain health.

What to bring:

Please bring with you an apron and two glass jars of any size with wide screw top lids.

Safety First:

Please ensure you wear closed in shoes, long pants and ensure long hair is tied back.

  • To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
  • All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled prior to the commencement and you will be informed.
