Fault Line Cake - New!

Discover the illusion behind the fault line cake, learn how the pro’s do it! We start with learning how to cut, stack, fill, frost and decorate a naked cake. Then we get into mastering the fault line itself, you will be surprised and delighted on how it is done. We finish the top with some piping and gold lustre painting, what a cake to add to your skill set.

What to bring:

  • 2 high baked cakes to cut in half each to make 4 single 1” layer cakes (6-8 inches in diameter), or 4 single layer cakes (you can purchase these from Woolworths, unfilled sponge cakes in a twin pack)

  • Double batch of buttercream 1kg – 1.5kg at least or (mondo buttercream you can buy from Cake Decorating Solutions (https://www.cakedecoratingsolutions.com.au/products/Buttercream-%252d-Mondo-%252d-White-2kg.html)

  • Sprinkles or decorations for fault line

  • Cake board (Coles have a twin pack)

  • Sharp bread knife

  • 1 large bowl

  • 2 x smaller bowls

  • spoon

  • Tea towel

  • cleaning/anti-bacterial wipes

  • cake turn table

  • curved icing spatula

  • scraper

  • optional piping bag and 1M piping tip

  • All other tools & utensils are supplied for use on the day

  • Please note this cake will need to travel home on your front passenger floor or seat. I have purchased a round hat/gift box from my local liquidator store that I use to transport my naked cakes, it costs $15 for the larger size but well worth the investment for peace of mind transport.
