Experimental Art Workshop

In this 1 day workshop, I will help you to maximise your inspiration through a unique step by step method that will allow you to create the composition of your artwork (placement or arrangement of visual elements or ‘ingredients’ in a work of art). Once that first layer wil be accomplished we will then explore different technics and how to paint your work.This workshop is a very different approach, it will help you to get into the zone of making an artwork through a different technique. Beginners or experienced painters all welcome.

What to bring:

Suggested acrylics colours (but you are welcome to buy a 'start box of primary acrylic colour from dollar shop or art shop to start with)- but be careful you need to know the cheaper the paint the poorer the outcomes of your artwork will be as there will be less pigments so less brightness of colours.

  • blues – ultramarine blue, phtalo blue
  • Reds – alizarin crimson, cadmium red
  • Yellow – Lemon yellow, Cadmium yellow medium, Yellow naples
  • Burnt umber
  • Titanium white and ivory black
  • Acrylic medium
  • 3 or 4 Flat brushes in different thickness
  • 3 or 4 Rond brushes
  • One rag
  • 1 small palette knife
  • 1 flat palette or old plate or a plastic plate

About the tutor:

'Valerie is an experienced artist, she has participated in few local art shows/exhibitions and made commisioned works. She has a background of art textiles in France and a degree in visual art. She has taught art to adults and children in groups and private lessons. She is deditcated to painting and loves to share her passion Make a space on your walls at home for your very own masterpieces!'

Other Information:

  • To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
  • All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled prior to the commencement and you will be informed.
