BSB51915 Diploma of Leadership and Management

This qualification allows you to take charge of your career. This course will instil in you the expertise needed to tackle the unpredictable and capitalise on new ideas, with training in leadership, planning, communication, and organisation. By completing this course, you will have the opportunity to build on your definitive knowledge, skills and experience to step up to a high-level supervisory or management role in a variety of enterprise and industry contexts.

You will learn how to manage operational plans, risk, team effectiveness and business outcomes and will enjoy the challenge of applying and evaluating solutions to unpredictable problems. Individuals at this level display initiative and judgement in planning, organising, implementing and monitoring their own workload and the workload of others. They use communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organisational or enterprise requirements. They plan, design, apply and evaluate solutions to unpredictable problems, and identify and to analyse information from a variety of sources.

What you need to know about this course:

  • Classes commence at the beginning of week 1 of each school term
  • Students will be accepted into the class throughout the term
  • You will need to plan for approximately 8-10 hours a week at home to complete assessment tasks
  • There are no training sessions during school holidays
  • Private Facebook groups are used to share resources and learning
  • Resources are provided by SGSCC

What resources do you need to study from home?

  • A computer with internet access
  • Email access
  • Facebook account.

Course entry requirements:

  • There are no ‘formal’ educational requirements for entry into this course.
  • Recognition for units may be granted based on previous learning, studies, work and/or life experiences.

Do you need to complete any work-placement hours?

  • No, this course offers a simulated learning environment within SGSCC.

Will you need to sit for any exams?

  • No. This is a competency-based course
  • Tell us, then show us you understand and are able to implement the learning you have received
  • You will be required to competently complete assessment tasks for all 12 units of learning

Assessments are made up by a range of:

  • Case studies
  • Demonstration
  • Observation
  • Portfolio of evidence
  • Presentation
  • Questions & answers
  • Research report

To be deemed competent:

  • You will receive clear assessment instructions
  • You must complete all assessments to a satisfactory standard as set by your trainer
  • These are assessed by your trainer
  • Opportunities will be provided for trainers to support students and to resubmit their assessments if required

When you have completed and been deemed competent you can:

  • Progress with SGSCC to the BSB50215 Diploma of Business

Course Fee and Payment options:

  • $2,850 (maximum Smart & Skilled student fee)
  • $5,000 (fee for those who are ineligible for Smart & Skilled)
  • Pay in full or by interest-free monthly payment plan
