Creative Art for Anyone

This course will guide you to finding your own creative side and help you explore the unlimited possibilities of art making. Everyone should be able to enjoy creating art without the expectations for perfection. Art can be fun; through simple techniques and “tricks”, you can make art that you’d be proud to hang on your walls. In this course you will make bold minimalist patterns and designs. You will understand how colour and line work, and how to balance them on your canvas. Learn to enjoy the process and pick up techniques that are easy and effective. You will gain confidence both in painting and drawing and experimenting outside the box. You will learn that art is not about perfection but exploration and understanding your own unique style.

About the Tutor:

'My name is Karina Bradbury. I am a practicing artist, learning the endless challenge of juggling life and creativity. I have a Diploma in Fine Arts through St George TAFE (2010) and Advanced Diploma in Transpersonal Art Therapy through the College of Complimentary Medicine (2014). My educational pursuits have helped me form a passion towards art both as an aesthetic and enjoyable creative outlet as well as a way of healing, expressing and relaxing. Art is endless in its forms and it has formed us as humans through meaning making and understanding ourselves. I believe art should be accessible to anyone and free from judgement. Art can tell a story or it can make you feel something.'

My beliefs:

  • Art should be fun
  • Art should be enjoyable to create
  • Art can be beautiful, colourful and fun to look at
  • Art is limitless – if we think outside the structured definitions we can then pursuit the true art of creativity
  • Art is personal and has different meanings for everyone – every artist is unique

'Art is my passion and where I get my energy and motivation. Learning art is simple, all you need is a bit of curiosity for creativity and the belief that art is subjective and therefore a personal experience.
I believe art is for everyone and there is a world of benefits, helping us find peace in a chaotic world and meaning to life and all its ups and downs.'
