Cooking with Cheese

There are few ingredients which offer as much diversity of flavours and textures as cheese. But with such great variety, there are fundamental pieces of knowledge that all accomplished cooks need in order to bring out the best of these flavours. This course will teach you everything you need to handle any cheese from melting it, cooking with it and serving it. We will revamp old classic and introduce contemporary flavours. For all cheese lovers out there, this course is not to be missed.

Course Outline:

  • Cheese fondue
  • Smoking cheese
  • Perfect Cheese sauce
  • Cheese soufflé
  • Homemade burger cheese slices

Learning Outcomes:

  • Student is able to work conscientiously and safely in the kitchen
  • Student is able to work effectively individually and in a small group
  • Student is familiar with food hygiene practices
  • Student develops fundamental kitchen skills
  • Student learns to prepare an array of sweet and savoury dishes

What to bring:

  • Apron
  • 2 medium containers
  • 2 small containers
  • 2 small ramekins
  • 1 medium saucepan
  • 1 strong metal whisk
  • 2 tea towels
  • Pen

Safety First:

Please ensure you wear closed in shoes, long pants and ensure long hair is tied back.

  • To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
  • All courses need a minimum number of students to run (“we try our hardest to get those”) . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled prior to the commencement and you will be informed.
