CHC32015 Certificate III in Community Services

Wanting to make a real difference in the lives of others? Then consider a career in community services.
This course will enable you to provide day-to-day support to individuals and groups under the broad direction of others. It will prepare you to have direct contact with clients, identify presenting needs and refer them to appropriate services and support
This is an introduction to the general field of community services and may also apply to workers who support workers in residential facilities and/or in community services.

This qualification includes:

  • Providing direct support to individuals through person-centred services.
  • Assiting in the implementation of sepcific community based programs
  • Working in a range of community services organisations

What will you achieve from completing this course?

  • A nationally recognised CHC32015 Certificate III in Community Services
  • Entry level skills & knowledge for a community services worker

What you need to know about this course:

  • Classes commence at the beginning of week 1 of each school term
  • Students will be accepted into the class throughout the term
  • You will need to plan for approximately 5-8 hours a week at home to complete assessment tasks
  • There is no training during school holidays
  • Private Facebook groups are used to share resources and learning
  • Resources are provided by SGSCC

  • A computer with internet access
  • Email access
  • Facebook account

Course entry requirements:

  • There are no formal educational requirements for entry into this course
  • Recognition for units may be granted based on previous learning, studies, work and/or life experiences

  7. HLTWHS003 Maintain work health and safety
  8. CHCCCS006 Facilitate individual service planning and delivery
  9. CHCCCS009 Facilitate responsible behaviour
  10. CHCCCS015 Provide individualised support
  11. CHCCCS019 Recognise and respond to crisis situations
  12. CHCCCS020 Respond effectively to behaviours of concern

Do you need to complete any work placement hours?

  • No, this course offers a simulated learning environment with SGSCC

Will you need to sit for any exams?

  • No. This is a competency-based course
  • Tell us, then show us you understand and are able to implement the learning you have received
  • You will be required to competently complete assessment tasks for all 12 units of learning

Assessments are made up by a range of:

  • Case studies
  • Demonstration
  • Observations
  • Portfolio of evidence
  • Presentation
  • Questions & answers
  • Research report

To be deemed competent:

  • You will receive clear assessment instructions
  • You must complete all assessments to a satisfactory standard as set by your trainer
  • These are assessed by your trainer
  • Opportunities will be provided for trainers to support students and to resubmit their assessments if required

When you have completed and been deemed competent you can:

  • Progress with SGSCC to the CHC42015 Certificate IV in Community Services, CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support or CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability

Fee and Payment options:

  • $1,750 (maximum Smart & Skilled student fee)
  • $3,000 (fee for those who are ineligible for Smart & Skilled)
  • Pay in full or by Interest-free monthly payment plan
  • By Cash, EFTPOS, Visa or MasterCard
