ICT20115 Certificate II in Information, Digital Media and Technology

Are you interested in a career in Informational and Communication Technology? Are you looking for an entry level course that will teach you the basics so that you can assess if this is for you?
Then this is the right course for you.
Gain an introduction to computer systems and hardware, digital media technology and how to problem-solve routine IT malfunctions. You will learn how to operate database applications, maintain IT system integrity and detect spam. These new skills could lead you to work as an office assistant, records assistant or in junior office support.

What you need to know about this course:

  • Classes commence at the beginning of week 1 of each school term
  • Students will be accepted into the class throughout the term
  • You will need to plan for approximately 5-8hours a week at home to complete assessment tasks
  • There are no training sessions during school holidays
  • Private Facebook groups are used to share resources and learning
  • Resources are provided by SGSCC

Course entry requirements:

  • There are no ‘formal’ educational requirements for entry into this course.
  • Recognition for units may be granted based on previous learning, studies, work and/or life experiences.

13 ICTSAS202 Apply problem-solving techniques to routine ICT malfunctions
14 ICTICT211 Identify and use basic current industry specific technologies

Do you need to complete any work-placement hours?

  • No, this course offers a simulated learning environment within SGSCC.

Will you need to sit for any exams?

  • No. This is a competency-based course
  • Tell us, then show us you understand and are able to implement the learning you have received
  • You will be required to competently complete assessment tasks for all 14 units of learning

  • Observation
  • Portfolio of evidence
  • Presentation
  • Questions & answers
  • Research report

To be deemed competent:

  • You will receive clear assessment instructions
  • You must complete all assessments to a satisfactory standard as set by your trainer
  • These are assessed by your trainer
  • Opportunities will be provided for trainers to support students and to resubmit their assessments if required

When you have completed and been deemed competent you can:

Progress with SGSCC to the BSB40515 Certificate IV in Business Administration

Fee and Payment options:

  • $1,050 (maximum Smart & Skilled student fee)
  • $2,000 (fee for those who are ineligible for Smart & Skilled)
