This inspiring cooking class will teach you the art of Artisan bread making from around the world. Perfect your kneading techniques with these hands-on step-by-step recipes.

We will make a variety of different textures and flavored bread. Using different leavening agents to get the perfect crust and flavor bread that you and your family will love. From irresistible Italian olive bread to traditional Irish soda bread. Master your very own naan bread and lentil dosas. You are sure to impress your next dinner guests with homemade lavish bread served with some mouthwatering dips. Not forgetting the sweet tooth a healthy banana bread to finish. Course fee includes all ingredients.

Course Outline:

  • Traditional Irish soda bread
  • Italian Olive bread
  • Spinach and Feta pull apart
  • Lavish Flatbread
  • Lentil dosas – gluten free

Learning Outcome:

  • Have an understanding of the different flours used
  • Apply the different cookery methods for bread making
  • Know how to use the different leavening agents
  • Know how to test if bread is cooked

What to bring:

  • 2 Tea Towels
  • Dish Cloth
  • Apron
  • Take away container for any leftovers
  • Pen to take notes

Please ensure you wear closed-in shoes, long pants and ensure long hair is tied back.

About the Tutor:

'Maria has worked in the food industry for over 20 years as a chef. She has gained a wealth of knowledge in many different hospitality environments. In restaurants both here in Australia and overseas, in food production for a dessert company and private catering specializing in organic vegetarian dishes. She has a passion for cooking home-style comfort food. Along with her experience in the food industry, and love of teaching, she has created several classes taught at SGSCC, from “Pasta Making” and “Cooking with Vegetables” from scratch to a class filled with “High Tea Delights” and many more.'

  • To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
  • All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled before the commencement and you will be informed.
