CHC62015 Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management

Is it time to utilise and sharpen your leadership skills within the community sector? Then this is for you.
This qualification reflects the role of workers who are middle managers or managers across a range of community sector organisations. These people work independently and report to executive management, directors or boards of management. They undertake a range of functions requiring the application of knowledge and skills to achieve results in line with the organisation’s goals and strategic directions.

At this level, workers have responsibility for planning and monitoring service delivery, recruitment and performance management of other paid or unpaid workers, managing risk and contributing to continuous improvement within the scope of their specific role. This may include management of a specific programs or project, or broader management of a community-based organisation, early childhood education service, not-for-profit organisation or community centre.

This qualification includes:

  • The skills and confidence to work independently and report to a board of management
  • The skills and knowledge to achieve results inline with the organisations goals and strategic direction

What you need to know about this course:

  • Classes commence at the beginning of week 1 of each school term
  • Students will be accepted into the class throughout the term
  • You will need to plan for approximately 8-11 hours a week at home to complete assessment tasks
  • There is no training during school holidays
  • Private Facebook groups are used to share resources and learning
  • Resources are provided by SGSCC

  • Email access
  • Facebook account

Course entry requirements:

  • There are no formal educational requirements for entry into this course
  • Recognition for units may be granted based on previous learning, studies, work and/or life experiences
  • You will be working either full time or part time in the community services industry

  10. CHCPOL003 Research and apply evidence to practice
  11. BSBMGT605 Provide leadership across the organisation
  12. BSBMGT616 Develop and implement strategic plans
  13. FNSACC604 Monitor corporate governance activities

Do you need to complete any work placement hours?

  • Ideally you are currently employed in a community services role. For this qualification you are not required to complete any minimum number of hours
  • SGSCC also offers a simulated learning environment

Will you need to sit for any exams?

  • No. This is a competency-based course
  • Tell us, then show us you understand and are able to implement the learning you have received
  • You will be required to competently complete assessment tasks for all 13 units of learning

Assessments are made up by a range of:

  • Case studies
  • Demonstration
  • Portfolio of evidence
  • Presentation
  • Questions & answers
  • Research report

To be deemed competent:

  • You will receive clear assessment instructions
  • You must complete all assessments to a satisfactory standard as set by your trainer
  • These are assessed by your trainer
  • Opportunities will be provided for trainers to support students and to resubmit their assessments if required

Course Fees and Payment options:

  • $3,650 (maximum Smart & Skilled student fee)
  • $6,000 (fee for those who are ineligible for Smart & Skilled)
  • Pay in full or by Interest-free monthly payment plan
