A Journey into the World of Street Food

The traditional Street Food is a ready-to-eat food or drink sold on the streets at a market or fair, by a hawker or vendor, often at food cart or portable booth. Street Food varies from regions and cultures. Asian Street Food is fresh and lighter than some of the other cuisines in the area using herbs, chilli and limes.

Agenda:

  • Learn traditional Street Food cooking techniques
  • Learn basic cooking safety and organisation
  • Understand how to develop your own recipes and to plan a menu
  • Have fun cooking and serving to family and friends

We start our journey in South East Asia where the food reflects the melting pot of this region:

  • Indonesian Beef Satay Skewers
  • South Vietnamese Seafood Curry
  • Green Mango Salad
  • Salsa Peach Salad

Learning Outcomes:

  • Learn basic Street Food cooking technique and an understanding of how to develop your own recipes.
  • Learn to plan a menu and have fun cooking, serving to family and friends.

  • All ingredients and equipment will be supplied

  • Tea Towel
  • Knives
  • Cutting Board
  • Apron
